TECHNICAL PRODUCTION MANAGEMENT

In an original event, there is the creative process – the dream. Making the dream reality is Technical Production Management.  The challenge is realizing the creative while adapting to changing technology, budget, time and venue constraints and the successful collaboration with the designers, vendors, venues and local agencies. EDS (also as Projects of Interest) has provided technical management and design for over 35 years for theater, grand opera, film world premieres, industrial shows, concerts, and dozens of unique special events.

SITE DESIGN 

Site Design and Emergency Planning go hand in hand. There is a direct relationship to the physical layout and audience safety. Specific site plans for special events must consider the needs of local agencies, emergency medical responders, production workers and security teams, in addition to the technical demands of theatrical production and audience experience. EDS produces site designs in collaboration with all responsible parties.

LAYOUT DESIGN AND PRODUCTION

Events require detailed plans for the entire physical layout, specialized drawings for emergency responders, permitting plans for local agencies, just to name a few. EDS has provided CAD plans for many events, including events on the National Mall and US Capitol steps, with audiences in the hundreds of thousands.

EMERGENCY PLANNING

The security of the audience for any event is the first consideration. Communication with all parties and organized coordination with local agencies are critical elements of an emergency plan. We are certified in the highest standards of the Incident Command System (ICS) and the National Incident Management System (NIMS). Beyond just certification, EDS puts these principals into action for major public events on a daily basis.

EMERGENCY PLAN REVIEW

World wide events have changed the landscape of event emergency response. In addition to creating and coordinating emergency plans, EDS can review current plans and provide recommendations for meeting the current demands of event safety and security.

EXPERT WITNESSING

The theatrical working environment, with complex rigging systems and temporary structure issues, is often not understood by the general population.  We have provided expert witness and consulting for the stage collapse at the Indianapolis State Fair Sugarland concert and stage-related injury cases.
